Two Weeks Until ….

… The Pesidential Election in Finland.

It’s not going to be very surprising event since we already know who will most likely win it! The candidate leading the polls has had a 40-50% of all voters support while the rest of the candidates only get around 6-9% support each.

We have a direct election where we can vote for our candidate directly without advocates as middlemen. If one of the candidate gets over 50% of all votes in the first round there will not be a second round. If none of the candidates gets over 50% of all votes in the first round there will be a second round when we get to vote between the two candidates who got the most votes in the first round.

The same President can only serve two electoral terms (12 years) in a row. That’s why we can’t elect Mrs. Halonen to continue as a President.
